Salvia is possibly the only legal hallucinogen in the U.S., so why did I have to accidentally stumble across its page on wikipedia to know about it.? Wouldnt you think that tons of people would be smoking it since its legal and all.? Could it possibly be because people are trying to keep it on the down low so no politician tries to outlaw it.?

The people who do use salvia are indeed keeping it on the down low. Many people have never heard of it because of this. It's kept quiet because in several places that it's been legal up to this point, government officials are attempting to make it illegal. I believe Kansas (where I live) is one of the next ones on the list to ban this.
I'm not sure how aware of the effects of this drugs you have become after reading about it on Wikipedia. I haven't looked at the page myself. But, from talking to people who have experience with it, it's kind of a hit and miss high. I've been told it doesn't last long, and most of the time the user has a bad trip. I haven't tried it, but I'm thinking maybe people are afraid of it.

Salvia has been legal in many states for some time. Just recently, it became illegal to possess in New York. The effects of salvia can be very powerful - it is nothing like smoking a cigarette, puffing on a joint, or having a drink - at all. It is a short-term hallucinogen. The dried leaf form is horrible in taste and a waste of time the 10x is $45 a gram and though my husband loves it, it doesn't last long at all. I believe it is slightly dangerous as if he does too much at once he finds it hard to breath. It has no effect on me at all.
