HELP...I just found out I'm allergic...?!

Question: HELP...I just found out I'm allergic....?
I recently found out that I'm allergic to it seems just about everything. The strange thing is that I have no symptoms except for a never ending cough. My doc wants me to get allergy shots that unfortunately could take a year to see any major difference. He put me on a antihistamine prescription that doesn't seem to be helping. The side effects could cause a cough and infection. My lungs now seem to be building up fluid. What I would like is to find a natural antihistamine. Anybody know of any natural antihistamines I could be using.? Tanx so much for your help.Health Question & Answer

Aw. Sorry to hear about that. I am going through some weird things too lately...almost everything.? like what.? vegetables, fruits.? b/c I mean I am sure there is a natural solution, but you must first be specific with what you are allergic to. However, there must be a natural way. Visit the website enzymedica.com and look at the things they have available. Enzymes are a great way to resolve issues in a homeopathic way. After you get to the website, look in the "Therapeutic" section, and and look at some of the products according to what you feel...Allerase, may be what you need. also, try to see a naturopath/ homeopath doctor in your area...the regular doctors will put you on all sorts of stuff to COVER UP the main issue, but not to solve the UNEDERLYING problem, so do that and I pray you will get better soon. Other than that, if you are allergic to dairy and fish and stuff (which I am not sure if you are, these are just the most common), there are excellent substitutes for this in the vegetarian/vegan sections in stores. God Bless.Health Question & Answer

No such thing as a natural antihistamine - some folks will tell you quercetin - there is no physiological evidence that it does anything to the immunoglobulin gamma cascade. In theory it should. However, theory and what really happens are quite often different. AND quercetin is a pretty well known carcinogen.

Vitamin C might be worth a shot, however, again, there is no evidence that what should happen in theory actually does happen in the body. I take many thousands of mgs a day of it for an entirely different reason, and have never noticed a difference in my allergies.

What I would suggest is that you try to reduce exposure (google allergies environmental control) by cleaning procedures and dietary modification, and neti pot use - and use the antihistimines as prescribed.Health Question & Answer
