PROZAC AND LEXAPRO Q???!
Question: PROZAC AND LEXAPRO Q.?.?.?
I took lexapro 10mg for 3 months and felt nothing the dr just today put me on prozac 40mg. Doesnt that seem like a leap.?.? also will the prozac take immediate effect since the lexapro is in my system or do i have to start from scratch.? It may seem like a lot, but different medications have different dosage levels and you can't really base one dosage off of another. The Prozac will take the same 2 weeks to reach its full effectiveness that you had to wait for the Lexapro to work. If you are taking Prozac for anxiety and/or panic attacks and will need something to manage daily life until then, you might want to ask your Dr. to prescribe some Ativan for the time being. (he might say Valium or Clonazepam, but trust me, Ativan works much faster, doesn't make you as drowsy, and leaves you with no "hangover") I've been through MANY different meds for anxiety/panic attacks and depression to find what works for me, and I personally didn't do well on Prozac, but I know lots of people who do great on it. Everyone responds differently to different meds, its sometimes just trial and error. Just make sure to take your meds everyday and communicate your needs to your doc.
