Question: Will wearing contacts make my cold last longer.?

only if they are ones that you have to take out and clean out every day and then don't clean them properly- that way you would likely retain the infection and keep on reinfecting your eyes. But once your body has built up the antibodies to get rid of the cold, it should be OK.
Same goes with daily disposables as the infection will be in your eyes for the entire day insted of falling out via tears or streaming eyes. But as you do throw these away daily and renew them daily, you would not carry the same risk.Health Question & Answer
