Can someone tell me about Gardasil?!

Question: Can someone tell me about Gardasil.?
My daughter is 11 and about to have her 6th grade physical and they want to give her the Gardasil shot, but I have heard that the risks of having it are worse than not having it.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
It has been approved and considered safe, but there are cases where young girls experience a variety of side effects after the shot. These are arm pain, being unable to lift the arm (temporary), fainting, nausea and vomiting, headaches, change in menstrual cycle, temporary loss of vision, and seizures.
I don't know if they are linked, but these are being reported from within the same day, or less than two weeks after taking the shot.
Most girls have no problems, but they can be severe. There have also been a few deaths shortly after finishing the Gardasil treatments, but the company denies that these deaths or symptoms are related.
The primary concern seems to be the younger girls. If you feel your daughter is safe from getting this disease (I don't know if she's sexually active or not), I would recommend waiting a little while longer. I would not feel safe yet, but it's your decision.Health Question & Answer

i have gotten the gardisil shot and do not believe the risks outweigh having the shot.
gardisil protects women from 4 types of HPV viruses (one including herpes simplex 1 which is what causes coldsores on or near peoples mouths). the shot also helps to reduce cervical cancer in her latter years. with herpes being so common today, the gardisil shot shields your daughter from it before she is exposed to it.
she basically goes in, gets one shot, goes back 2 months later and gets another shot then after another 2 months gets her third and final shot. i was slighlty nauceous but that was about it.Health Question & Answer
