Heart fluttering problem..?!

Question: Heart fluttering problem...?
Its doing it every 10 seconds, its just a flip flop feeling with occasional numbness in tips of my fingers. I don't feel dizzy, or have a headache or anything or any tightness..
I'm 17 and a male
By the way I had a 250 bpm thursday and was taken to the hospital and was told I have supraventricular tachycardia and now on beta blockers and I have had this fluttering sensation pretty much throughout the day and I do have anxiety so maybe me bein scared of having that extremely fast heartbeats scaring me and giving me these weird beats.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
I'm guessing here because I cannot hook you up to a cardiac monitor and see what beats are causing the "fluttering". I would make a guess that this could still be some PAC's - premature atrial contractions which could be residual from your episode of SVT. You have not been taking the beta blockers long enough yet to knock out all of these early beats and they can give you a "fluttering" feeling in your chest. Only when the fluttering becomes constant and you have repeat symptoms as you did on Thursday do you need to seek medical attention again. I would guess that these will soon go away. If they continue to bother you, talk with your doctor about them since I would guess that they have recommended a follow-up visit with your family physician or a cardiologist.Health Question & Answer

Only a cardiologist after performing the right tests can tell you the cause. The heart has nodes which control the rhythm. If there is something wrong they can do an ablation with radio frequency which affects a repair. perhaps it is just anxiety and nothing is wrong. The heart is very powerful and can beat fast for weeks on end with no danger.Health Question & Answer

Since you have SVT, if this lasts 20 minutes and still hasn't stopped, you need to go to the ER. So since it has been so long, you should go to the ER.Health Question & Answer
