Question: Weird hiccup thing when I cry, why is that and how do I stop it.?

Last night, something really big happened and I ended up crying really hard, and last night and including since I can remember every time I cry I can't breathe, so I do this weird hiccup thing. Why do I do that, and how can I make it stop. Because I ended up crying near my friends and I felt embarassed afterwards because the hiccup thing.

Hiccups can happen with intense emotions and it does seem to be an inappropriate response but it does happen and there's nothing abnormal going on.Health Question & Answer
