I saw a documentary ("Horizon") last night that said there was a virus that makes people obese. How easy is it to catch this virus.?Health Question & Answer

but i think there is some evidence that people who catch said virus

Is this for real.?.? How can a person become fat from a virus .?.?.? the virus attacks the body and multiplies in the body making a person heavy RIGHT.?.?.? Wrong the people who are obese usually eat to much or the thyroid is not functioning properly or have other health issues making it hard to either take weigh off or to keep from gaining weight not a virus.If this is a virus that makes people gain weight then its been around since the beginning of time and this is just now being found.?.? Apparently it's a gene, not a virus, that we inherit.
We must have always been able to inherit this gene, not just in recent years.
Lifestyle plus this gene may be to blame, but you must take the lifestyle into account.

It is 'caught' in childhood, and is not really transferable when shaking hands or anything. I think the virus makes you predisposed to obesity, obviously if you eat healthily and don't overeat, and exercise then there is no reason to become obese.Health Question & Answer

I know a low thyroid can cause obesity and I imagine various illnesses can lead to it but I don't know. Google it.
