Stopped smoking but suddenly develop asthma like symptoms why?!

Question: Stopped smoking but suddenly develop asthma like symptoms why.?
I stopped smoking after over 20+ years... due to many sinus infections. Strangely after I stopped, I developed breathing problems... nose is always stucked and I use ProAir and Advair after doctors prescription. When I started jogging/ running I cannot do more than 1KM without going into breathing problems and if I use ProAir I am fine again or Advair. Should I continue running in this way or is there a way to cure this problem. Some say I might never recover, some say I will. CT Scan shows clear but these days you never know life is short. Please advise. I wanted to start running because it feels good and a friend also an ex-smoker for over 20+ years finally made his 7 mile run in 1 day. Thing is I do not wheeze but there is a strong Chest tightness, pain, and some slight pressure on my left side of chest and Shortness of breath but no coughing at day or night. Someone said the Cilia takes sometimes over 1-3 years to get better again. Why the asthma like symptoms then.? I can hardly run for 10 mins before I run totally out of breath and need ProAir or Advair... or am I getting addicted to those inhalers.? Will I ever be cured of this asthma like feeling each day even when walking.? I feel like a handicapHealth Question & Answer

You could have asthma or it could be because you have gotten so used to smoking that you can't breathe right without it. Drugs and cigarettes build dependency and if you dont get it, you could just be facing your weakness of smoking.Health Question & Answer
