What causes you to have chlamydia?!

Question: What causes you to have chlamydia.?
Last 4 weeks ago.. I visited my OB for the first time.
then after a week.. my OB-Gyne talked to me and told me i was positive with bacteria -- Chlamydia.
[ he told me to talk to my ex boyfriend and tell him to go see a dctor for test to prevent him pass it to others.. ]
I did what my OB told me. but then.. my ex-boyfriend went to the doctor and went for an sti test. [bloodtest] and the result was.. negative.

Could my OB-Gyne was mistaken on giving me meds for Chlamydia.? Is it possible to be positive on Chlamdia and the last person that i had sex with is negative.? Where else can i get it then.?

HELP! :(
I am 5 months pregnant and ex-boyfriend was thinking now, that he's not the father of my baby.

Like,seriously... :'(
HELP =(

If you have slept with anyone other than your ex they may have passed chlamydia to you. You can also catch the bacteria by sitting on a dirty toilet seat, by sharing a wash rag with someone, and a few more ways. Do research and check with your doctor.

As far as the situation with your ex goes, I would worry more about your health and the health of your unborn child. If you want to approach your ex once the baby is born you can order a paternity test through the court and you and your ex will both know the truth.

Try not to stress about things because your stress will be passed on to your baby and can cause premature birth or other problems. Just stay safe, be careful, and concentrate on keeping you and your baby healthy! Good luck with everything! :)Health Question & Answer

Chlamydia is a bacteria. I agree with alisongi: your boy friend is lying. If one partner has chlamydia then so does the other partner. At this point it doesn't matter who had what, it just matters that both are treated appropriately.
Women whose sex partners have not been appropriately tested and treated are at high risk for re-infection.
You did the right thing: you got treated and you told him to get himself checked. Now you need to let the past go, learn from it and move on.

well how long have you been with the current guy.? you could have had it for along time and didn't know it. maybe from the guy before him. i know you can get herpes and it can take years to show up intill you get the sores. you can only get what you got from sex so its probably from someone in the past before your baby's dad.Health Question & Answer

Its possible that the test results are messed up or you received it from a different source of bacteria i think, maybe like a toilet seat or something else. The chances of that are like slim to none though, but maybe your in that slim category. All i can suggest is just like trying to tell your boyfriend in every way possible that your faithful to him. I'm really sorry this is happening to you.

Good luck, I sincerely hope you find a solution. Ill pray 4 u.

It is possible although unlikely he is free considering your pregnancy means you were not big on safer sex, that you may have had it for some time as it often does not show symptoms. He may have even cleared himself up without knowing it if he was on antibiotics for another reason.Health Question & Answer

its like a virus, you can get it through oral, anal, vaginal, or outer course. also your ex can be a carrier of the virus and not have the symptoms of it, so idk if just carriers test positive. maybe you should look into that. good luck :)Health Question & Answer

The only way to get it is through unprotected intercourse. If he was wearing a condom then he had a chance of not contracting it. Otherwise there is still the possibilty of him not having it but it is slim.Health Question & Answer

Your bf is lying and trying to duck his responsibilities.

If you haven't been with anyone since him, he definitely did have it too. If he was your first, then he gave it to you.Health Question & Answer

have you had it before... i heard that if you have had it befor that it can come back. Im not sure any other way you could get it. try googleHealth Question & Answer

If neither of you are lying about being with someone else than the only thing that I can think of is a false positive from your doctors office. Doctors offices do make mistakes.Health Question & Answer

Its a bacteria, so its possible it can come from other sources than sex.

To get chlamydia you HAVE to have sex with someone else who has it. It doesn't just pop up on it's own... and sorry to say but one of you has apparently been unfaithful. also, you need to make sure this is cleared up as much as possible before your baby is born because you can infect your child. You need to have your guy go back and get a test, the tests for chlamydia can be performed on urine, other tests require that a specimen be collected from a site such as the penis or cervix. So if the doctor did a blood test they probably won't see it. Read up on the topic in the link I've included. It has all the information you need.

I forgot to add that chlamydia can hang around in your system for awhile without you knowing or without showing symptoms. He probably had it (got it from another woman) and then passed it to you while you were together. He could have picked it up either before you slept together, or he cheated on you. Either way, if he's the only guy you've ever slept with (assuming you're being honest) then you had to have gotten it from him.Health Question & Answer

if your ex tested negative for chlamydia then it was obviously someone you slept with not that long ago during or after the time you were with your ex, ob gyne are not usually wrong about things like this and you can't misdiagnose an std. and the only way you can get an std is through sex hence the term sexually transmitted. it is impossible for you to get chlamydia if you only had sex with your ex and he tested negative, so you obviously slept with someone else.

i would suggest talking with the man or men you have recently slept with and tell them to get tested, if you did not get it from your ex you got it from some one else. it does not make you a bad person and you should not be ashamed, things like this happen.
or he may be lying and have it himself unless you yourself saw the test results because he would have shown symptoms a long time before you because std symptoms appear faster in men because it stays in the urethra of the penis and the symptoms would be more visible. because their genitalia are external not internal like a female who would not reconigize symptoms right away.Health Question & Answer
