well everyone has cancerous cells in their body. and it depends on what you do to make those cells become active. for example smoking (congratulations on quitting by the way) and things such as eating high amounts of greasy and unhealthy foods. you shouldnt try to completely stop doing everything that they say can cause it however because there are just too many things. but you should try to cut down on these things which will also do you better. if need be however, have a talk with a medical professional as im sure they could give you some advice.

Risk factors are things that increase your chance of developing cancer. Many risk factors are beyond your control, including age and family history. But, there are things you can do. The good news is that more than half of all cancers could be prevented by:

>not using tobacco products
>maintaining a healthy weight
>eating nutritious foods
>being physically active
>and avoiding too much sun.

Although many cancers could be prevented by lifestyle changes, there are no known risk factors for some cancers. For many of these, early detection is the best defense.Health Question & Answer

Don't expose yourself to too much sunlight, too much radioactivity or everyday pollution.
Do not smoke at all costs.
Exercise to boost your immune system, and eat food high in vitamins and all those other things that are good for you.
If there was a clear preventative for cancer they'd advertise it without rest, I think just following a healthy lifestyle is the only way to go.Health Question & Answer

Congratulations - I too kicked the habit on 4th March, a month in three days. I smoked for 33 years (since the age of 11) and I am determined not to go back to it again.

I was told to take Selenium ACE,which is a mixture of selenium, vitamins AC and E to help with promoting good health, which I now take. I cannot say this has made me feel better as, like yourself, my emotions over the last month have been up and down to say the least - I think the general well being feeling (I too go to the gym now) is also down to not smoking.

I shall watch this with interest to see if there are any pointers I too can take to help.

Good luck, keep off the ciggies,

Straining on anything is bad for your health.
When you strain on something, soon somewhere of your body goes wrong, falls into some kind of bad condition.
That's the starting point of any disease.

So when you notice you are straining on some activity, and you have some wrong feeling in your body, you should quit it at once and take a break.

The principle is that, but the problem is how to keep to this principle for a long time.Health Question & Answer

Keep up with the healthy balanced diet! Now you've quit smoking, your doing no more damage to yourself, cut the alcohol out (not completely, you can have a few here and there) Exercise is a great thing, which you've said your doing. Supplements isn't really that good for you.Health Question & Answer

Healthy life-style, eating sensibly, exercising.

It won't stop cancer, but if it comes, you have a far better chance of recovering quickly.
