Shingles follow a nerve path from the spine around the body, so can appear anywhere, including the waist area. The symptoms are pain - often before there is anything to see - reddening of the skin which develops into tiny blisters. Successful management is very reliant on early diagnosis. The pain can often be much more acute than the visual symptoms suggest because of the nerve involvement.Health Question & Answer
shingles is almost always on the waist. If there isn't a rash then it isn't shingles. If the rash is half way round the abdomen then its probably shingles. People can feel run down and generally unwell - there can also be some pain.Health Question & Answer
