HIV risk..I am terrified !!?!

Question: HIV risk..I am terrified !!.?
Ok.here's the thing....

I bought wome wipers for my car yesterday...as I was opening the box to install the wipers, there was this staple on the bag for accessories and it got into my finger and causet it to bleed a lot..

is there any hiv risk of this.?.? should I be tested.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Don't be terrified - you can only get HIV if you come in contact with body fluid. So if the staple had semen or blood on it, then you'd have a reason to worry.

At most - tetanus will be more up your tree, though it was a staple after all, not a harpoon. It's unlikely that you've caught anything, what with the wound being so small.

Any infections (bacteria & such) will be destroyed by your body's immune system, so there's no need to worry. You could put some disinfectant on it if you're really concerned (Dettol or Savlon, whatever rocks your boat)

Hope that cleared things upHealth Question & Answer

Clean and properly disinfect the area. Cover it with a bandaid. Monitor it for signs of infection. It should not be a problem. HIV/AIDs is transmitted by body fluids. Check the website below and educate yourself so you don't panic yourself into therapy.. Hope it helps.Health Question & Answer

No. You're not going to get HIV from a staple.

You might want to see if you need a tetnus shot though.Health Question & Answer
