I think long periods of immobility in an automobile is bad for the circulation.. My feet get sore and somewhat swollen too just in a half hour commute home from my job.. Maybe the slight pressure on the back of your legs as you sit in a car seat does this, preventing venous blood from returning to your heart as efficiently as outbound blood goes to your feet through your deeper arteries..
