Pins and needles, numbness down the left hand side for two weeks slight confusion and weakness, all sats OK?!

Question: Pins and needles, numbness down the left hand side for two weeks slight confusion and weakness, all sats OK.?
Have had a brain scan and lumber puncture at hospital all showing clear, feel fobbed off by being told it is a virus and will clear up eventually, any ideas.?Health Question & Answer

I'll assume you mean this is numbness and weakness on the left side of your body and not just in the hand. If so, its very unlikely you have "just a virus". If you only had a CT (cat scan) of the brain then you need an MRI. If you haven't had a cervical MRI you should have that too (though that is not likely to explain confusion). I agree with those saying you should see a Neurologist...that is EXACTLY what you need. Do NOT see a chiropractor for something like this.

If its just the hand then it could be a nerve entrapment or cervical spinal root problem...again, a Neurologist will sort it out for you.Health Question & Answer

You said your left hand side, but didn't say where exactly. Do you mean literally your left hand.? Or the left side of your body.? Left hand would indicate c-spine injury (neck), but the left side of your body would indicate injury in other places (why they did a lumbar (lower back) . Other than seeing a neurologist right away, another great place to go would be a trusted chiropractor. They are great at pin-pointing (no pun intended ;o) ) sources of problems pretty quickly.Health Question & Answer

Have you seen a neurologist... I agree that it would be frustrating to be told it's "a virus"... I am a nurse and I can't say that I see viruses like that! At least for peace of mind, I would try to find a good recommendation for a neurologist! Feel better!Health Question & Answer

maybe a pinched nerve.? or a herniated disk.?

my mom had a herniated disk, and her hand went all tingly for a couple monthsHealth Question & Answer
