Boils can definitely be a symptom of diabetes. For me, it was a very big sign He should go to the doctor asap and get tested. Here are some more of the most common symptoms of both types of diabetes.
Your husband may or may not have symptoms. Some people never have any at all, some have a lot, some only a few. Diabetes is in his family, so he has a higher risk, especially if either one of his parents has it....
Constant thirst
Frequent urination
Sweet smelling urine
Constant hunger
Headaches
Irritiability
Nausea or vomiting
Unexplained weight gain or loss
Blurry vision
Reoccurring yeast infection in women
Itching penis in men (this is a yeast infection)
Itching skin with no rash
Leg cramps
Slow healing wounds
Burning, tingling sensations in hands, arms, feet, or legs.
Your husband is having some of the classic symptoms. Get him to the doctor. If he is diagnosed a diabetic, it can be controlled, either type. Sign up for some diabetic educational classes and learn all you can. He should also get an appointment with a nutritionist or a dietitian to help with his diet. He will learn tons from them. If your husband has diabetes, the boils will go away when he starts treatment for the disease. Your husband will do very well if he follows the instructions from his doctor.Health Question & Answer

I suggest a workup for your husband, like a fasting blood sugar, electrolytes, BUN, creatinine, CBC, etc, if your doctor has not requested those yet... a family history of Diabetes, and symptoms of polyuria, polydipsia (if there are any) increases the risk of the patient for diabetes.

Its the persistent "sluggish" blood flow due to high glucose levels in Diabetes that causes the complications - affect immune system, more prone to severe non-healing infections, affect kidney function, risk for stroke, peripheral neuropathies and vascular diseases. So there is need for early diagnosis and treatment.

No worries, if ever it's diabetes, there are medications for that, and I also suggest your husband do some lifestyle modifications, like modify diet (lessen intake high carbs and sugars/sweets), and exercise regularly (esp if he's overweight).

Good luck to both of you!Health Question & Answer

Has he been tested yet for diabetes.? If not, he should be. There may be other causes for the boils, something that only a doctor can determine for certain.

Many type 2s don't notice their symptoms or attribute them to other problems. For example, I used to think I was tired and had headaches from working too many hours. I normally have something to drink with me at all times (its hot here most of the year) so I didn't notice increased thirst or urination (both occurred over time, I just got used to it).

I've had my fair share of diabetic blistering and leg infections over the years, and it takes stronger/longer antibiotic or antifungal medications to cure it than infections I had before becoming diabetic. You might also want to see a wound specialist as they can advise you on how to clean and care for the the blisters to avoid scarring and permanent damage.

first of all he should throughly investigated such as Hba1c,specially serum b12 if he is on metformin for long time. good simple exercises, low fat diet and if he smokes and takes alchol he should be advised to stop. There are somany drugs which can cure, but the doc treating should be very cautious in prescribing the medicines. if possible a piece or scrapings from the wound should be sent to lab to perform culture and sentivity to know what exactly it is and what type of drug is effective.Health Question & Answer
