Cirrhosis of the liver runs on my maternal side, but only in the females, and none of them ever drank, and neither do I. Can eating chocolate also cause this discoloration.? I also had breast cancer seven years ago.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
What did you eat the night before besides the chocolate.? The main reason for stool discoloration is usually diet.
Cirrhosis can cause discoloration in your stool but it would be clay whitish in color. This is from the lack of bilirubin which gives stools their brown color. Blood in the stools would make them look black and tarry.
I think the reason is from your diet. I have had dark green stools from eating spinach or other dark leafy vegetables. A quick google search for green stools will yield many results.
Health Question & Answer

no chocolate eating is not a reason..it is the inability of the liver to uptake billivrubin..infact ur billirubin a green coloured compound is not being reduced in to billirubin...thats the cause of green coloured stool....
breast cancer if end staged may spread infection to liver spleen n then brain as well...
but if u hav cured that myt not b an accounting factor...
but they probability persists if u had taken measures for breast cancer and not the realted organs...that are in route of cancer spread.
