It isn't always bad, actually. A fever is your body's natural way of fighting off bacteria and viruses by making the body too hot for them to survive. However, too high of a temperature can affect your own cells and brain and cause you to have seizures and, if high enough, brain death.Health Question & Answer
HAving a fever in itself isnt bad.. the cause of the fever can be bad.. some children will have a fit with fevers and usually grow out of it (febrile convulsions) The fever itself is a way for the body to fight off the bug cuagin it.. ie our normal body tempurate is 37 celcius and the bacteria and viruses we get also like this temp so we raise our temp to restirct the organism attacking us.. but we use meds to lower temperatures becuase people feel so horrible and sick with high temps and esp kids are flat and washed out and dont drink and get dehydrated and recover whith a lowered tempHealth Question & Answer
