Question: Can i get sick from inhaling e-coli.?
I was doing a lab in school where we plated te ecoli bacteria. we incubated it and kept it at room temp for a week..today when we went to observe the plates..i had mine in my hand..it wasnt taped...and the lid opened a tiny bit..enough for the smell to get out...i accidently inhaled it..at first i didnt know what the smell was. Now i m feeling really nauseated ...dry heaves...headache..shakey..a little warm...and tired. do u think i could have gotten or might be getting sick from this.?

No, you can't get ecoli via inhalation. also, the ecoli that they let students work with is no longer able to infect anything (that's a universal safety thing). Don't worry about it! Sounds more like a virus. Hope you feel better soon though!Health Question & Answer
