reading the instructions of the medicine it says nothing at all about avoiding alcohol in the precautions or anywhere else on the instructions so is there any specific reason why i should avoid it as im going to a wedding reception tonight and want to enjoy myselfHealth Question & Answer

alcohol can reduce the effectiveness of any medication. Some antibiotics also react badly with alcohol especially metronidazole which causes very bad stomach cramps and sickness which needs hospital treatment. To be on the safe side i'd do as the doctor says. Health Question & Answer

if you have side effects such as dizziness or nausea alcohol will make them worse. i don't think they will stop the medicine from actually working though but then I'm not a doctor!! Health Question & Answer
