My friend and I were talking and she told me that her boss has ridiculously bad breath and she wants to tell her, but we could not come up with any really tactful and professional ways to say it without possibly hurting her feelings.

I would prefer that someone just told me outright that I had bad breath (when you tell her, say "halitosis"). You can always tell when someone is trying to be tactful about it (when someone gives you breath mints, isn't it obvious.?)Health Question & Answer

I made sure that I had a roll of mints in my pocket the next time I talked to him. While talking, I pulled them out, made an excuse for myself about my breath (had garlic for lunch) and offered him one.
Me: "Mint.?"
He: "Oh, no thank you."
Me: "Miiiinnnt..." like oh yes you want one. Luckily he took it then with kind of a grin. Health Question & Answer
