Answers:
The normal range varies per lab but one range used 0.3 - 3.0. TSH is produced by the pituitary to stimulate the thyroid. It is much more likely that a person has a thyroid problem than a pituitary problem. So usually a high value indicates an under active thyroid, and a low value an overactive thyroid.
Everyone has there own optimal value but for most it is close to 1.0. Your 0.8 value is normal. Health Question & Answer

Some endocrinologists still prefer older group of ranges, TSH (0.5-5.0).
Newer updated range TSH (0.3-3.0)
You are within normal range, on lower end.
* This is exactly why some endocrinologists prefer the original ranges on a thyroid panel. With a TSH (0.3-3.0),
a much higher percentage of the population is considered to be, "leaning," toward hypothyroidism.Health Question & Answer
