I believe this is still largely being researched. Of course there is the link between HPV and certain types of cervical cancer, but even this is still being investigated.
When I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma, the oncologist mentioned that a mononucleosis infection (the Epstein-Barr) virus may have played a role in mutating some DNA in my lymph node cells, which could have led to the cancer. I will never know.
You may get different opinions on this, but as far as I know the links between cancer and viruses are definitely hot topics in research right now. One day viruses may even be genetically engineered/manipulated and used to treat cancer! Which is pretty cool to think about.Health Question & Answer
