Answers:
I used to be a vet tech, and yes, animals use human insulin. The only types I've seen used are regular and U. Health Question & Answer

Well, I am not a veterinarian, nor am I a pharmacist, or a medical doctor, but I would have to say that dogs can NOT use human insulin. Why don't you take the doggy to the vet to see if there's something you can give him that is appropriate for his species. You know that you shouldn't share meds between people...I would say that the same rule applies when you're talking about the family pet.Health Question & Answer

my neighbor's elderly dog took human insulin. there is no dog equivalent. also, my sister's ancient cat was on insulin too.
you'll need to go to the vet to get a confirmed diagnosis and prescription and approrpiate dosages.Health Question & Answer
