Chlamydia treatment - side-effects
Like any medication, this antibiotic can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or an allergic rash. In addition this chlamydia treatment can (rarely) cause liver damage or blood clotting disorders.

What is it.?

Chlamydia is one of the most common sexually transmitted diseases. It is caused by a bacteria called Chlamydia trachomatis.

It is an infection of the reproductive and/or urinary tracts (and sometimes of the throat or rectum). It is possible to have other infections, such as gonorrhea, along with it. Chlamydia is easily treated with antibiotics.

Follow-up

It is a good idea to have a follow up test two weeks after you have finished all of your treatment to make sure that you are not still infected. Do not have oral, vaginal or anal sex (even with a condom) while you and your sexual partner(s) are being treated. If your partner(s) is/are not treated, there is a high risk that you will be reinfected.Health Question & Answer

Chlamydia is a bacterial infection and the medications are very strong and will start killing the bacteria in 15 minutes or so after the medication gets into her system, however, there could be strong bacteria that may still be alive in a few days and eventually die off. She should not have sex at least 6 days after being treated. The rest I answered it in your same previous question.Health Question & Answer

If theyre both single dose, it should be gone soon.
within a week.

Its important not to have any sexual activity during this time though.
To avoid infecting others/re infection to herself.

medications can often cause nausea, but its not
"cleaning out her system"
its doing its job.

it just so happens that it causes her to be a little nauseous.

Hope this helps.

Health Question & Answer

She shouldn't have sex for 7 days, because that's how long it takes to clear up. also, the medicine doesn't sit well on anyone's stomach; her dr. should of told her that. Please tell your sister to use protection... it could have been worst!Health Question & Answer

I hope she didn't take them on an empty stomach. You have to always eat something when you are talking medications unless the instructions says otherwise. Health Question & Answer
