It depends on the type of the cancer. There are some severe types which spread so fast, through the blood stream, but some kinds take more time to spread. I think that first of all, this person has to be sure the tumor is really malignant. For a while, chemo is the fast way to destroy it, but another techniques are being experimented with a relative success. Cancer continues to spread until it is stopped. If you refuse to have chemotherapy, unless a miracle happens, it will spread, and continue to spread. And yes, they can die. If left untreated, they WILL die. Talk to your oncologist, if you are still against chemotherapy, to maybe find another treatment.Health Question & Answer
