I have minor ringing in my ears...but it can't be tinnitus, can it?!
Question: I have minor ringing in my ears...but it can't be tinnitus, can it.?
For a few days I've had minor ringing in my ears. It's NOT because I've been to/played at a gig. I listen to music on my iPod pretty loud, but I've only been doing that recently. It's not really annoying me but it's giving me a bit of a headache. I'm just worried I might develop tinnitus or need to see a doctor.
Any ideas.?

Tinnitus is mainly caused by loud constant noises which damages the inner workings of your ear.. if your ipod is loud enough *i.e you can't hear anything around you* it may be early signs of tinnitus, but just incase go to your local gp and ask them to test your hearing it could also be an ear infection...

I have tinitus almost all of the time, it is a loud buzzing noise. It is hard to go to sleep at night as I keep hearing sounds that are not really there at all, like music in the distance and bells and a very annoying buzzing sound. At times the sounds / tone change to a higher pitch, just like a hearing test. To me it sounds as if you are getting Tinitus.Health Question & Answer

Pick up your phone! lol

No my boyfriend has that i suggest you hold on for a day or so if you can and see a doctor if it persists. There isn't a cure for it they suggest leaving the TV on and stuff so you are never in complete silence because it can become annoying.Health Question & Answer

More than likely just too loud on your ipod if that's the first thing you thought of. Try playing it a little quieter(!) for a bit but if the noise continues, it could be tinitus or maybe just a buildup of wax- both things can be diagnosed and probably treated by the doctor.Health Question & Answer
