instead of worrying about the guy being an alcoholic....why not try and find out what is eating at him. instead of worrying solely about alcohol reduction. what kind of solution/ alternative is it to tell the guy "go to church and join a tennis club."Health Question & Answer

You are right, but the real problem is that a person that is a smoker, alcoholic, or drug addict, is that they have a death wish brought on by an emotion issue or issues. Once you find that issue and deal with it head on, you then can fix the physical issue with a little work.
A Harvard study that has now become very famous demonstrated that a person that smokes has two reasons for doing so. 1) a death wish, and 2) a desire to prove to someone or everyone that he or she can do whatever they want and no one is going to tell them what to do with their life.
Find the root cause, using EFT techniques, etc. or QRA testing techniques that work incredibly well in determining the "root cause" of the problem. Attack that first, then you will see great results.
