I think this is just nosense. I know ppl tend to give their kids meds to make them sleep. But taking them off the market anit going to help, they will find other ways. And making up an excuse about how they dont really work, is nonsense. It just gives many parents like me, more heck because the kids get sent home from school with runny noses. When we can send them to school with cold meds, that help the runny noses. I know alot of parents keep them out, but they the scool will start saying the kids are traunt. My daughter missed 1 week last year because of the sickness, they said if she missed 3 more days they would have to call the law. I think its ridiculous to take the runny nose,cough and cold meds away. I know when my kids take them, which is only when they really need them, it helps so much. It helps them relax, stop coughing, and ends the runny nose. And normally they are feeling 100% better by the next day.
I think us as the parents to these kids need to stand up!!! And say NO!
I mean now our kids are going to miss even more days, meaning you will miss even more work....I cant believe they are taking these meds from, kids under 4. Last year it was under 2 kids meds. Now its under 4. And they are already saying by this time next year, It will be tooken from kids under 6. Health Question & Answer

Parents are over medicating their children or like you pointed out medicating them for the wrong reasons (to get them to sleep). They are not following the dosages correctly which could lead to a child being overdosed... now when that happens what do you think they will do.? They will run to the nearest lawyer and slap a lawsuit on the drug maker because people will not take responsibility for their own actions.Health Question & Answer
Because they don't seem to actually help with cold symptoms in very young children.also too many parents are using these drugs to make there children sleepy.Children can ovederdose very easily on these drugs,and without proper medical attention can quickly slip into a coma and die.Health Question & Answer
