Can STI's be as dangerous as STD's?!
Question: Can STI's be as dangerous as STD's.?
Answers:
They are actually the same thing. Yes, they can be dangerous--HIV can be life threatening, and there is no cure for HIV or for herpes. Some STDs can actually cause infertility if left untreated.Health Question & Answer
A sexually transmitted disease and a sexually transmitted infection are the same thing. STI has become more common, but not because of the negative connotation of the word disease. Being "diseased" implies that the infected individual is showing signs and symptoms (ex. you get a fever if you have a cold).
With a number of STIs, you can be infected, but have no signs or symptoms. So infection really is a more appropriate word. That's why getting tested is so important. Health Question & Answer

they're the exact same thing. they just changed it from STD to STI to make people who had them feel better about it.
because "its better to have and infection than a disease." i guess it just sounds less permanent and less harmful.
but its not.Health Question & Answer
