Question: My nephew has some sort of brain problem and can someone tell what they might think it is.?
i really don't know how to explain it but ill try........ well my nephew is 9 months and my sister took him to the doctors and the doc told my sis that theres this place in the baby's brain where it allows the brain to grow until he/she is i guess 18 months old...... but the place in my nephew's head is closed and theres no room for his brain to grow. so he will get bigger physically but stay the same mentally........... the thing is that he is sooo normal and he responds to everyone and he does everything a baby is supposed to do........ so does anyone know whats right n wrong.? or if this is the case then what is it called and is there a cure.?Health Question & Answer

I believe what you are describing is called craniosynostosis or the premature closure of a baby's fontanelles. Premature closure of the fontanelle may mean that the bones of the skull are fusing too early. Should this happens, it could seriously impair the growth of the baby
