Question: Why do I have a sudden cough/itchy throat.?

I was thinking it could have been because i ate some new sour patch candy i just bought from the store and didnt drink any water afterwards, but wouldn't that be temporary.?
I ate it like 3 hours ago. My throat feels itchy and I am kind fo hoarse a little. I have been sort of dealing with Acid Reflux as well and supposedly I have a swollen Thyroid gland. I know that Acid reflux can cause hoarseness, but this was sudden and it is not like it has been this way all day. It started about and hour after I ate the candy, and it started out with my throat feeling really itchy. Have been drinking water, and the itchy feeling is gone but the cough persists, and I feel like my voice is getting hoarse.Health Question & Answer
