ACNE, I saw my dermatoligist today and she gave me?!

Question: ACNE, I saw my dermatoligist today and she gave me.?
differen gel and an antibiotic 100mg and I go back in two months and if that does not work then she will try the Acutain I think she said. Do you think the differen gel and antibiotic will work.? I hope so. Thanks. Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Yes, it should help more than just a gel. My daughter has done much better with antibiotic and gel combination. She has pretty severe acne.
Good luck with that.Health Question & Answer

Its hard to say whether or not it will work, its different for everybody. I would just do my homework on both drugs. also there has been some speculation involving long term use of antibiotics. also your skin will get very sensitive because of both differen and antibiotics- do not get waxed, microdermabrasion, etc you can seriously scar, disfigure yourself. Just do your homework-especially with Accutaine since you have to get alot of test done and serious side effects, but if you have cystic or nodular acne this maybe the route for you- just do your homework!Health Question & Answer

yes, i think you have a good chance of doing well with the differen and antibiotic. my dermatologist told me that acutane (which is what i wanted to do when i went in) does not "cure" acne like people think. he said many times you have to take it over and over again. not to mention you have to have testing done, sign all these papers to have tests and use 2 forms of birth control.....you probably know all of this. mine also gave me a topical antibiotic gel to use as well. between it all i am much happier. not to say that i still don't break out some but it isn't anything like before.....definitely something i can live with. my mom and sister both used acutane and after seeing what they went through with it and that it didn't get rid of it completely i think i'll keep doing what i'm doing. i hope this helped you. oh by the way...i'm 38.Health Question & Answer

I had the same problem up until about a year ago I'm 32 I felt like a teenager I hated it but I found some essential oils that have been clearing up my skin and also I changed my lotion for my face to pure Virgin Olive oil it does not clog pores and works wonders the essential oils that clear up acne are
Bergamot, Cedarwood, Chamomile, Clarity, Clary sage, Eucalyptus, Rosewood, Sage, Sensation, Thyme.
I use the cedarwood chamomile clairty, rosewood and sage my self I just mix them with the olive oil the best most pure oils I have found are sold by young living they are pricey but do work.Health Question & Answer

i think it will work - it will probably take a while but it will help, its what a lot of my friends use
if you want fast results try proactive its really fast and i love it :)
http://www.proactiv.com/

i have also learned that sometimes your dermatologist is wrong ... the first time i went to a dermatologist she gave me differen and i had eczema not acne sooo idk sometimes their ideas are not the best optionHealth Question & Answer

Acne is difficult to cure...but try changing your diet and keep lots of healthy food in the house - cut right back on sweets and chocolate. Get a small chocolate bar rather than a large size etc, and take less sugar i.e 1/2 tspn rather than a tspn in your coffee. Try taking a natural supplement to boost your immune system and help clear the skin. See website below:Health Question & Answer

OMGG SAME exact thing happened to me lol
i used differin and be WARNED ur face will break outat first but it does that to help clear it
i dont rele like it, i used proactiv before and i saw results i liked better
ask about something called an acid peel when u go back
but i think differin will work good for uHealth Question & Answer

It is impossible to say. It works for some people. It doesn't for others. That's why she gave you a backup plan. I'm around the same age as you are, though, and the antibiotics worked fine for me.

And the antibiotics she gave me are a LOT less expensive than Proactive! LOL!Health Question & Answer

Depends. Everyone is different but i know a lot of people that use differen and love it! but even if it doesnt work accutane isnt that bad of an option just crazyyy expensive but worth it.

Hope everything works out for you :)Health Question & Answer

differen works really good for certain skin types. me and my brother both tried it... it worked wonderfully for him, but not for me. i guess it just depends on you and your skin. good luck though, i really hope it works. Health Question & Answer

it should work but do you really want to take antibiotics for the rest of your life.? If not add one zinc tablet to your food intake each day and see if it will help - I have seen many good results with this Health Question & Answer

It may or may not work, if it was easy to know, you're dermatologist would have probably told you. It is most likely a 50/50 chance.Health Question & Answer

I just seen mien to their all ways given you some type of cream just keep putting it on what ever she told you to, good luckHealth Question & Answer
