A question about chemo/hair?!

Question: A question about chemo/hair.?
I have heard that people that have chemo, their hair when it comes back may be a different color or be curly if it was straight. Does anyone know why or how chemo changes the structure of the hair in order for this to happen.? I'm just curious to know, and thought perhaps some of you may know someone this has happened to.Health Question & Answer

I believe it is just something about the hair and body becoming healthy again. They tell you it might return thicker, curly and prematurely grey. Mine came back thicker and not grey.Health Question & Answer

My hair is baby-fine and straight. After chemo it came back wavy. But, after that hair grew out, it went back to normal. The color is a little darker than before. My eyes got lighter. They lost pigment during chemo. Chemo effects everything in your body in one way or another. I'm just happy to be alive!Health Question & Answer

I'm not sure why it changes but I just finished chemo and my new growth looks pretty much the same. The hair that remained on my head during chemo looks fried though. Health Question & Answer

Mine was perfectly straight before chemo. Now it's naturally curly. I think it has lightened up a bit, too. I don't know why or how this happened though.Health Question & Answer
