Guru is dead wrong, and if you follow his advice, you will be in serious trouble. Chronic hypoglycemia is essentially the opposite of diabetes. If you ingest food high in simple carbohydrates, such as sugary soda, it will have the opposite effect and make your glucose drop lower. You need to be eating a diet high in protein and complex carbohydrates frequently. Six small meals a day instead of 3 large ones will help to keep your blood glucose at a more consistent level. I should also point out that a consistently low glucose is not bad. It is a sudden drop that makes your body go haywire.Health Question & Answer

Low blood sugar, also called, Hypoglycemia, occurs when your blood glucose (blood sugar) level drops too low to provide enough energy for your body's activities. In adults or children older than 10 years, hypoglycemia is uncommon except as a side effect of diabetes treatment, but it can result from other medications or diseases, hormone or enzyme deficiencies, or tumors.
When blood sugar levels are low, the goal is to get them back up quickly. To do that, you should take in sugar or sugary foods, which raise the blood sugar level quickly. Your health care team might suggest that you:

* Eat, drink, or take something that contains sugar that can get into the blood quickly. Your doctor may tell you to have really sugary foods or drinks (like regular soda, orange juice, or cake frosting) or might give you glucose tablets or gel to take
