Answers:
Type B hib is usually a subunit vaccine, but it really depends on the manufact. Your doctor can give you that information about that particular vaccine that they personally give. For the definition of subunit, go here:

Here is a table of vaccines that I always refer people to with questions like this:

Haemophilus influenza type b can cause all sorts of problems, not just meningitis. Go here(its a pdf file, so be patient) :
http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/pubs/vis/dow...

for the pneumoccal vaccine please go here:
http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/vpd-vac/pneu...

they are vaccines for different types of infections that can cause meningitis. One vaccine per invader...
The pneumococcal vaccine would not prevent an Hib infection and the other way around since vaccines merely stimulate your body to produce antibodies so when the virus or bacterium show up to infect you, your body already has the means to recognize and attack the infectious invader.
Your body makes specific antibodies for each germ, so you have to introduce the germs one at a time to teach your body what the germ is and give it the means to kill it off. Go here to understand this better, it is really a miraculous and fascinating process:
