Take him to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.Give them the names of the other Doctors and Hospitals. Tell them what has been going on. These people really care and will find out what is going on. There is a Ronald McDonald House close by that you can go to if they keep him and do testing. I'm sure they will. This Hospital saved my life and they are the best!! Good Luck.Health Question & Answer

Have you asked your son what it feels like is happening.? Like he doesn't feel like he can get any air into his lungs, there's lump in his throat, his heart feels funny, etc... At his age, he should be able to describe what he's feeling. My first thought was asthma. When it happens, is he near the same things, in the same area, doing the same thing.? Share anything and everything with the doctor, even if you think it may be irrelevant. If the doc says there's nothing wrong, I would definitely go to another doctor until you find one that takes the time to figure it out...doesn't sound normal to me.Health Question & Answer

Well, I used to babysit a 1 year old boy that would spontaneiously stop breathing and fall over, but as soon as he was out he started breathing again. It was called breathing apnea, I think. They just took him back and forth to the emergency room and eventually he just stopped doing that. They didn't give him any medicine, it stopped on its own. Hope I helped ! Health Question & Answer

Has he been checked by a sleep specialist. A voice and larynx specialist.

Has he had a brain scan to check for epilepsy.

Has he been checked for allergies.

Put a fan in his room and see if moving air helps the problem.

Above all, don't stop bothering doctors and looking for the answer until the problem is identified and solved. Health Question & Answer
