Answers:
After a heart attack, the risks for another one is always higher than a person who has never had a heart attack, especially with an Ejection Fraction (EF) of 40.

However, taking his medicine to increase the contractility of his heart will greatly help. also, keeping to a low cholesterol, low fat, and low sodium diet is important.

At this point, your father must be on a strict regimen. He must take his medicine religiously. He must not ignore any signs and symptoms of heart trouble, i.e. shortness of breath, dizziness, high blood pressure, and chest pain. Keeping his doctor's/cardiologist appointment is a must.

Your father will need all the support he can get, and I'm sure he is very lucky to have a family that cares about him such as yourself. Good luck.Health Question & Answer
