Why do so many people have HIV in Africa?!

Question: Why do so many people have HIV in Africa.?
i mean i know that they don't have any shots to prevent it, but i mean hundreds of children have it! How does it get transmitted and stuff like that.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
HIV is transmitted by unprotected sex with an infected person, direct contact with infected blood, such as sharing needles with an infected person for drug use, and it can be transmitted from a woman to her baby at birth or during breastfeeding. There is no vaccine or cure.

One of the reasons so many people, especially young people, have HIV in Africa, is because for some reason, people in Africa believe that a person who is infected with HIV can be cured by having sex with a virgin. Unfortunately, while this obviously does not result in any infected people being cured, it actually results in the SPREAD of the virus, especially through rape of virgins, many of whom are young people. Incredibly sad, but true.

(also, as I mentioned above, babies could be born with it if their mothers are infected.)Health Question & Answer

1 in 4 people in Africa have AIDS.. why.? there is no education for them on how it is prevented.. a lot of times, people think its just a virus going around that killed mommy, daddy, aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters.. and thousands of kids are left as orphans for the rest of their lives.. There are medications out there, but they dont have the money to pay for them. the government doesnt pay to help, and any help they recieve, the government has a tendency of taking the money for themselves.. Its a sad life over there, it truly is.. but it is an AMAZING continent. so beautiful.Health Question & Answer
