This is a fancy term for "lazy eye". My mother was diagnosed at birth, and had surgery to correct it, but that was a long time ago. My son has it, and it has corrected itself with glasses. Both ways solved the problem, which is to strengthen the weaker eye muscle. Any time my son stops wearing his glasses, his eye reverts to being weak again.
