See that's just it...sometimes people are developing cold sore and they just aren't visible ...but yes you can catch herpies through a cold sore if you have vaginal sex and they are the one with the herpes...now just because they give it to you does not mean you will break out in like a week or so and it doesn't mean you won't...herpes is one thing that you can even be born with...it just may lie dormant in your body for years then become active as well as the cold sore you may contract it and not know it because of it laying dormant it is sort of like cancer you may have the gene for it but it doesn't mean that you will ever get it...if you need to know more here is a link I used in school to help out on some things
