Question: Should i seek immediate medical attention.?
i've had stomach pain on and off for at least a year and i'm currently seeing a specialist for it. he thinks i probably have ibs. however in the last week my symptoms have gotten a lot worse and the last three or four days have been horrible. first i had an acidic stomach, then gas pains, then D, then more gas pains. i have another appointment with the dr. soon but i'm really suffering now. is there anything i can do to help soothe my stomach.?Health Question & Answer

I would see your doctor as soon as possible. Have they ruled out other conditions.? Have they checked for endometriosis.? There are a number of tests they need to do to positively say it's IBS.

Yes, to me it sounds like you may have Hirschprung's disease, which is a congential aganglonic megacolon; colonic dilatation proximal to an aganglionic, contracted distal colon and rectum; caused by gestational failure of neural crest cells to migrate to distal colon; AD form associated with mutations of the RET gene, AR form associated with mutations of the endothelin-B-receptor gene.
