It sounds like you should be OK, but the window period for HIV is 90 days, 30 months or 12 weeks- a few people take a little longer- but not often. HIV shows up 90% after the first month, 94-96% at the end of 2 months and 99.6% after 90 days. So you are between the 96% and 99.6%.Health Question & Answer
HIV testing is performed to detect antibodies (proteins made by the human body) against the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) which indicates infection with the virus.
Description of HIV Testing
Many HIV-infected individuals are unaware of their status, since the characteristic complications of AIDS usually do not develop until several years after HIV infection. The virus destroys immune cells known as CD4 cells or T helper cells. When the levels of CD4 cells fall below 200 cells/mm3 (generally the level is greater than 500
cells/mm3), a patient is considered to have AIDS (as opposed to HIV infection earlier in the course of the disease).

People usually test positive within 3 months of infection, but in rare cases, it could take up to 6 months for someone to test positive. I suggest a retest in 3 months.Health Question & Answer
