He had TB and was told not to travel, as he was planning to do for his honeymoon. He changed his flight and left for europe. (exposing the people on the plane). then he again defied public health orders and took a flight back home, but did so via Canada, so that no one would know (again exposing more people).
Although his TB turned out to be not as contagious as thought previously, he blatantly defied public health orders. These orders were made to protect other people and they were made because there was a concern that he had drug resistant TB which is really hard to treat. They didn't want him to travel until they know what his TB was exactly and until they were sure he was no longer contagious.
Although it turns out he wasn't that contagious, that was not known at the time of the flight and public health officials must work to protect the public, which was what they tried to do by requesting that he did not travel until it was understood the strain of TB that he had. He's from Atlanta Georgia with a rare type TB that's dangerous to others.He could of exposed to several people with his flights he took to Italy and back. This man was told with strict orders Not to come back to the US but do so anyhow and went straight to a New York hospital for tests and found out his levels of this TB were low so hopefully all folks who were exposed to this fool will not get it.
