Question: McCain has had skin cancer recur several times, what are the chances that it has metastisized.?
Given his age (72) and his appearance, and his bouts with cancer, can you give an opinion on the likelihood that his cancer will reoccur or that it has metastasized.?

He has had melanoma 4 times making the chances of getting another high. No one knows for sure if he has had a recurrence as only a few people were allowed to look at part of his medical records and were not allowed to make copies. There is some question if one of these included a recurrence and that question has not been answered. The simple fact he has had melanoma 4 times does not mean any were a recurrence. He has had 4 separate primaries. If one of these primaries returns that is a recurrence.
If it had metastasized he would not be able to campaign, unless it has and no one is yet aware of it. Melanoma is one of the most unpredictable cancers there is and it is not unusual for it to metastasize as late as 20-30 years later and can metastasize in some very unusual places. There is no time limit for it to recur.
