What is my mystery illness?!
Question: What is my mystery illness.?
Alright, so here's a brief rundown of all of my symptoms:
I've been sick for the past 4 days. The first three I had a temperature ranging anywhere from 99.0 to 101.5. Today I'm pretty sure I've had no fever at all. My nose is really runny. The mucus is yellowish and sometimes has blood in it. I'm also coughing. I did have kind of a pain behind my left eye, but that seems to be gone at this point.
Today there were some new developments. When I woke up my voice was almost completely gone. I can't talk above a whisper and also, my right eye was kind of swollen and crusted. I just checked on my eye a bit ago and still seems to be pretty red and had yellow stuff in the corner as opposed to the normal white stuff that develops in the corners of your eyes.
a) What could I have.?
b) Should I go to the doctor.? (I've had terrible experiences with them in the past, so I tend to try and avoid them)
c) Is it possible to transfer a normal cold to your eye.? 'Cause I think maybe that's what happened. Like, perhaps I sneezed and without thinking or washing my hands, I rubbed my eye.?
Thanks in advance!Health Question & Answer

Sounds like a sinus infection. I get them frequently. You need to see your doctor.
The sinuses draining can cause you to cough and lose your voice. The color of your mucus indicates an infection.
Pain in or around your eyes and nose are also an indication of a sinus infection. It can turn into something more serious if you don't get some antibiotics.
I also have to take Mucinex to help drain my sinuses.Health Question & Answer

Sounds like you have something nasty and probably infectious or contagious.
Oh, and you can't just rule out medical care because of one bad experience - or one bad doctor! - or two or three or whatever.
GO to your doctor! You sound miserable! Seriously, I think you'll feel much better physically and mentally if you're being looked after properly.
Good luck.
And log off! GO!!! :) :)

You should go to your dr. I get sinus infections a lot so I know when there is blood in the mucus it is a good sign of a sinus infection, but I wouldn't think that would affect your eye....so that may be something else. Go get some antibiotics from your dr.Health Question & Answer

The bad experience with the doctor...are you still alive, yes. Did you lose a limb or anything.?
As for what you have...my bet is a cold....maybe a sinus infection. This would explain the mucus being yellow. Would also explain the ducts in your eye being crusty...it's not your eye, its the ducts....they are all connected to you ears nose and throat....you may even have an ear infection...
Either way...you should go see a doc...you may need some antibiotics to clear the infection...
YOu might even have strep...white bumps on the back of your throat.?.?Health Question & Answer

im sick right now too turns out i have the flu not fun!!! lol anyways hhmmm if it wernt for the blood in mucus, and eye issues i wouldn't bother going to the doctor since it would prob. just be a cold or flu but in this case i have no idea what it could be maybe it has to do with your sinuses or something like your having allot of pressure and that's whats making you have some slight blood or maybe it was just a little nose bleed lol idk as for the eye thing i have had that happen befor with allergies but this doesn't sound like you are having allergies right now i would go to your doctor despite your bad experience in the past that'sprob. your best bet. well good luck hope you figure out what it is and feel better :)
