My belly button is infected. Help?!

Question: My belly button is infected. Help.?
okay so i got my belly button pierced around easter and its was going okay for about 2 to 3 months, and then my bottom hole started to get smaller and my belly button became more and more swollen. Since it was hard, it obviously started to hurt, so I took out my belly button ring.
Now that I've had it out, the hole closed JUST A LITTLE but not much. The swelling has gone WAY down, although the bottom whole is very dark and hard. I just re-pierced my belly button (in the same spot) with a safety pin...don't worry, I disinfected it and cleaned my belly button very thoroughly with rubbing alcohol. I kept it in for about 1 and 1/2 hours and then took it out and tried to put in a regular belly button ring, but the whole is too small. I need help. Please tell me a way to treat my infected belly button! The safety pin is in my belly button right now, and it doesnt feel too pleasant.
Help please. :(Health Question & Answer

When my belly button ring got infected i used sea salts, they are like little rocks in a small medicine cup with warm water. I layed back a bit a placed the cup over my belly button and basically let it soak for a while. this was enough to kill any infection i had. You have to make sure you keep it really clean and try not to touch it too much it just irriates it more. As for the hole closing up im not too sure, i was advised not to take the ring out for 6 months after piercing but some peoples grow out on there own anyway. I would go back to the place that pierced it in the first place and ask their advice, they may have to stretch the hole for you. If the infection doesnt get any better go to your doctor as serious infections can kill.
Health Question & Answer

All belly button piercings get infected. Take the safety pin out, let it heal, and then go get it pierced again. When it is pierced, wash it with warm soapy water and put a triple antibiotic ointment on it. Keep putting the ointment on the piercing to prevent it from drying out.

Drying out= bad infection and pain.

If it gets really bad or you run a fever... go see a doctor.

Don't ever pierce on your own!Health Question & Answer

Take it out, put some neosporin ointment on it and stop putting holes in your body....piercing is over rated, look at it now, is it really that attractive.?Health Question & Answer

Sounds to me you got what you asked for.
Your skin is an organ, just like any other organ.
It protects your body.
That is unless you make holes in it.Health Question & Answer
