Has anyone ever had an Intraocular Lens?!

Question: Has anyone ever had an Intraocular Lens.?
It's where you get like a contact lens implanted into your eye.

Has anyone ever had this done.? Can you give me any info about it.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Yes,you get a new lens when you get a cataract removed.
I had it done last year.
A slit is made at the outer end of the eye and the flexible lens is rolled and inserted--it opens out when it has gone in.
The tiny cut heals on its own-no sutures.
All done under local anaesthetic eye drops-no pain!
However, other types are available, such as multifocal IOLs which is what you are referring to.?
They provide the patient with multiple-focused vision at far and reading distance, and adaptive IOLs which provide the patient with limited visual accommodation.
You just have to take it easy for a couple of weeks post-op , not bending over or doing strenuous exercise--not doing anything to raise your blood pressure.Health Question & Answer
