Does herpes give you a cold and stinging vaginal lips?!

Question: Does herpes give you a cold and stinging vaginal lips.?
Answers:
Ok, first of all...ignore the other guy...this is a sensitive issue, he's being insensitive...the only way you can positively check for herpes is if you notice a lesion (sore or otherwise) on or around your genitals. Herpes lesions start as bumps that become swollen and inflamed, break open, release fluid, and then dry up and disappear, much like a cold sore. If you see this happening go to a doctor as soon as possible and have a viral culture done...and I'm talking soon...the longer you wait the longer the lesion has to heal...as it heals its viral properties will decrease, meaning a viral infection may not be detected the closer it gets to being completely healed. If you don't ever see a lesion but you are sure that you have had a sexual encounter with someone who is herpes positive, get a blood test done. These are not as accurate as an active culture, but they do detect antibodies that the body creates to fight the virus. They are accurate enough to detect these antibodies within a few weeks to a few months depending on the person...I've heard to wait 12-16 weeks after possible infection to test...these are the only ways to really know, best of luck to you!Health Question & Answer
