Does anyone know about swelling behind the eyes?!
Question: Does anyone know about swelling behind the eyes.?
A year ago I went to the opticians who referred me to the hospital for an MRI scan due to a 'turn' in my eye. This came out clear and nothing further was done.
However I had an eye test today as there turn is getting progressively worse. The optician put drops in my eyes to make my pupils dilate so he was able to see the back of my eyes. He advised me that I had swelling the backs of the eyes, the right being worse than the left.
He has referred me to my GP and will get a hospital appointment soon. My optician wasn't very forthcoming with information and wouldn't really tell me how serious (if atall) this was, what it meant and what could have caused it. He told me I could have been born with it, however as I have worn glasses for 13 years I would have thougt it would have been spotted sooner. Does anyone have any clue as to what this might be or whether it can be sorted.?
Thanks in advance. Health Question & Answer

Do you have any thyroid problems.? Sometimes a thyroid problem particulary hyperthyroidism can cause a swelling behind the eyes. Or maybe glaucoma would cause this.
But here is a good article on Pseudotumor Cerebri which could be another cause of your problem.
